Chemical resistance test
For some products it is essential to know their resistance to certain chemicals. With our chemical resistance setup we can consistently expose test samples to liquid chemicals for longer periods of time. There is also the possibility to heat or cool the liquid. This gives a good indication of the longevity of a material when exposed to these liquids.
Our equipment can fit most tensile bars and impact bars, as well as yarns and monofilaments. Since the vessel is made out of glass and is heated/cooled via a double walled system, almost any liquid chemical can be tested. We also have the possibility to test more viscous substances like grease.
After exposure to the chemical, the test specimens are visually inspected for color change or swelling. Often, the specimens are further analyzed using our in-house equipment. Tensile/flexural/impact tests, color measurements, DMA or microscopy are for example often combined with the chemical resistance test.
