Role description
As Polymer Application Developer you will be responsible for leading client and internal development projects to bring applications from (bio)polymers to the next stage. In addition, you will be working in our extensive polymer and textile laboratory. This includes managing our laboratory equipment as well as laboratory specialists. You will be working on short and mid-term product development goals but also on long-term breakthrough innovations. You have a clear vision about the future of polymers and are driven by developing technologies for a sustainable future. There will be room to realize your own research ideas, given that there is a proven environmental value add and a clear business case.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Carrying out research on new biopolymers with support of the Senbis R&D team
- Develop sustainable plastic applications by e.g. developing new compounds, polymer blends
- Be contact person for several R&D clients
- Be responsible for Senbis’ extensive Polymer and Textile Lab, bringing quality control measures, (bio)degradation testing and mechanical property analyses to the next stage
- Acquire new clients through own network and identify new projects with existing clients
Requirements
- You have a BSc or (preferably) MSc in a relevant field such as Organic and Polymer Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- You have a can-do attitude, positivity and enthusiasm guide you through the R&D draw backs
- You are willing to occasionally work in shifts to produce (your own) developed products
- You care about the environment and are enthusiastic about contributing to a more sustainable future
- You speak and write English fluently
- You are able to adapt your communication to different audiences (e.g. able to present findings also to people without a background in chemistry)
- You are willing to work from Emmen, the Netherlands
